Tesco voting now open to support ‘Paws Against Stress’ at Alloa Campus

Thursday 26th October 2023

Shoppers at Tesco in Alloa will be in a great position to use tokens to vote for Forth Valley College Paws Against Stress sessions as part of the Community Grants scheme from now until mid-January.

The College has been chosen as one of three worthy causes currently available to vote for in the store. The project with the most votes will receive £1,500, second place will receive £1,000 and third place £500. Any money FVC receives will go towards paying for the Therapets charity Canine Concern  ‘Paws Against Stress’ service, where calming dogs are brought into the Alloa Campus. It has been found that petting and engaging with dogs helps students alleviate exam stress.

David Gentles, Learning Skills and Resource Assistant: “We are thrilled to be put forward for the vote. Paws Against Stress has become an important event within the LRC calendar, offering students a chance to relax and de-stress during busy periods. We hope that students and staff will support us to continue with these sessions by raising funds through voting at Tesco Alloa.”

Pauline Jackson, FVC’s Development and Fundraising Manager, said: “It is fantastic to be shortlisted as one of three projects to receive funding and we would encourage staff, students and friends of FVC to vote in store when they can. ‘Paws Against Stress’ sessions are extremely popular with our students and any funding received will go towards supporting these in future.”
