First and Second Year HND Photography students proudly showed off their best work at an exhibition held in the Creative Industries Department at Stirling Campus recently.
As part of the show the students also had to create a poster to advertise the showcase, which will give them vital experience as they move out into the workplace where they may have to promote their own work.
FVC’s Learning & Quality Enhancement Mentor Steven Ramage – who himself has a background in professional photography and lecturing – took this striking image of the exhibition which took place on the afternoon and early evening of Tuesday 28 January.
Creative Industries Lecturer Anna Lennon, said: “Fiona and I are extremely proud of our students in both groups - Year 1 and Year 2 - who have not only worked hard to achieve fantastic outcomes across a variety of photographic genres, they have collaborated well with each other and supported each other in creating this successful group exhibition. The exhibition is part of their HND Photography Exhibition Unit and therefore is of particular importance to their qualification. It’s also the first time we have exhibited both groups together and achieved a photography exhibition of this size.”
Creative Industries Lecturer Fiona Read, said: “Both of our HN groups have really made me so proud. They visited some recent exhibitions for inspiration and then curated their own, with many students making completely new photographs to include. They worked as a team to ensure everything was hung to professional standard, and the result is just fantastic. Seeing the sense of pride and achievement from our students is a real highlight of the year.”
