New Babcock MA cohort begin their journey at FVC

Fabrication and Welding Modern Apprentices from the world renowned Babcock International Group, began their career journeys at Forth Valley College recently at Forth Valley College.

The 56 strong group underwent their induction on in early August, building on the important year-long relationship between FVC and the global firm, which has a major workshop in Rosyth.

The Modern Apprenticeships being studied include: 22 Fabricators, 24 Welders, two CNC Machinists, three Mechanical Design, three Manufacturing Design and two Electrical Design.

Christopher Nisbet, FVC’s Assistant Client Manager, said: “We’re delighted to see a new cohort of apprentices begin their journey with Babcock. Over the year, our relationship has grown into a true partnership — one built on shared commitment to developing skills, opening career pathways, and supporting the next generation of industry talent. Together, we’ve been able to offer learners the best of both worlds: hands-on experience with a leading employer and high-quality training that equips them for long-term success.”

Alison Miller, Early Careers Business Partner for Babcock International Group, said: “It was great to support our fabrication and welding apprentices during their first day at Forth Valley College recently. This is now our second year working with Forth Valley and we are really excited about how this new partnership is growing and we look forward to watching our apprentices grow and develop throughout their time at the college.”
