MA Decorators more than measure up to win competition

Two Forth Valley College Painting and Decorating Modern Apprentices have shown their class by winning a national competition.

Lauren Burnett and Kai Ross took part in the annual Scottish Association of Painting Craft teachers' competition held in Glasgow Clyde College on Thursday 12 June.

Painting and Decorating Lecturer Michael Denzey, said: “I am thrilled for Lauren Burnett and Kai Ross on their brilliant victory at this prestigious competition.

“Their hard work and dedication truly shone through, capturing the attention of the judges and other competitors. It is amazing to see their skills, vision and teamwork drive such a well-deserved win.

“The joy and pride they must be feeling representing Forth Valley College at such a high level must be incredible, and I couldn't be happier for them as they celebrated this amazing achievement. They are truly inspiring role models for our current and future Modern Apprentices. I believe this win is the beginning of many more success to come! Congratulations Lauren and Kai.”

On Facebook a spokesperson for the Scottish Association of Painting Craft Teachers (SAPCT), said: “Our annual Craft & Advanced Craft Competition - is a celebration of skill, dedication, and the future of the painting and decorating industry.

“This competition is more than a showcase of talent. It represents the high standards we uphold across the sector, encourages innovation and precision in traditional and modern techniques, and provides a platform for apprentices to demonstrate the craftsmanship they’ve been developing through training and hard work.

“For SAPCT, this event is at the heart of our mission to support and inspire the next generation of decorators, and ensure that the trades continue to thrive with well-trained, passionate professionals at the helm.”
