Forth Valley College’s Skills Transition Centre (STC) has announced a new training delivery partnership with Elmhurst Energy, the UK's leading provider of energy assessment, retrofit, and property professional accreditation services, to deliver the Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) qualification.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in supporting Scotland's growing demand for skilled energy professionals as the nation continues its transition towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable built environment.
Through the partnership, the STC will deliver the accredited Domestic Energy Assessor training programme with support from Elmhurst Energy, equipping learners with the knowledge and practical skills required to undertake Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) assessments for residential properties.
Successful candidates will be supported through Elmhurst Energy's industry-recognised accreditation framework, providing a clear pathway into employment within the energy assessment sector.
The initiative responds to increasing demand for qualified energy assessors driven by national net-zero ambitions, energy efficiency targets, and the need to improve the performance of existing housing stock across Scotland and the UK.
The partnership will support the Green and Future Skills Agenda by combining Elmhurst Energy's industry-leading expertise with the Skills Transition Centre’s established reputation for high-quality vocational and professional training, delivered from its new Falkirk Campus facilities, which offer a convenient and central location for learners across Scotland.

The DEA qualification offers opportunities for individuals looking to enter a growing profession, as well as for those already working in construction, housing, property management, surveying, and retrofit sectors who wish to expand their skills and services.
By bringing the programme to Forth Valley College, delegates will benefit from local access to industry-recognised training, expert instruction, and ongoing support from both organisations.
The first cohorts are expected to commence training in the coming months, with applications opening shortly.
