FVC Make up Artistry students support We Will Rock You production

Monday 9th March 2026

HND Make up Artistry students from Forth Valley College will once again put their talents to excellent use — this time supporting the Alloa Musical Players (AMP) in their brand new production of We Will Rock You, running at Alloa Town Hall from 18–21 March.

This continues the relationship that AMP has with the students of Forth Valley College building on the success of collaborations on previous productions.

The students involved include first years: Jasmine Keenan, Hannah Graham, Jaye Lehardy, Chloe Gallacher, Amy Gallacher, Carla  Morgan, Jasmine Wooldridge and Christina Fraser. And second years: Gabrielle Millar, Krisztina Sallai, Kirsten Smith, Edyta Musielak, Romy Bridgeman, Amber Mcadam, Sinead McNiven, Jenna Rae and Niamh Bryce.

Rob McDermott, FVC’s Head of Learning and Quality, who also serves as President of the Alloa Musical Players, said: “Yet again, Forth Valley College students and staff have come to our aid by working with us to ensure that our show will be as much of a spectacle and night’s entertainment as always. It’s been great to get the students involved, combining College learning with work based experience in their own community. This opportunity will add to their portfolio, supporting their progression into employment or further study.”

FVC Make up Artistry Lecturer Tracey Ritchie, added: “The students are building a strong reputation for providing professional, high quality make up services to amateur dramatic groups and it’s very well deserved. Being part of a real production allows them to gain invaluable experience, and working on this show will hopefully lead to even more exciting opportunities in the future.

“My colleague Linda Hughes and myself along with the students are really looking forward to working with the Alloa Musical Players again this year to provide hair and makeup services for their production of We Will Rock You.

“The students have already been really busy marking scripts, designing hair and makeup charts, identifying the products, tools and equipment that will be necessary to achieve this.  This will be a great benefit to them as they get to work and gain real industrial experience whilst having the ability to be assessed within the environment.

“The production is running from the 18 – 21 March however, we will be in the theatre from Monday 16 March, because we will be perfecting the hair and makeup during the rehearsals to ensure a professional service. I’m a very proud lecturer indeed!”

The Alloa Musical Players production of We Will Rock You runs from Monday 18 March to Friday 21 March at Alloa Town Hall.
