Students from Forth Valley College’s Sport and Fitness Department attended a Work Placement Provider networking event recently, designed to connect students with a wide range of local organisations.
The event – held at the Falkirk Campus sports hall on Monday 31 August - aimed to create networking opportunities to help students secure work placements relevant to their course, explore volunteering roles, and build pathways toward future employment.
Attendees included representatives from Clackmannanshire, Falkirk, and Stirling local authorities (including Active Schools), Falkirk Foundation, Stirling Albion in the Community, Bannatyne Health Club, and Forth Valley Disability Sport.
Sport and Fitness lecturer Michael Young, who took lead on organising the event said: "Over the past five years we have worked closely with local, physical activity provisions. This has enabled us to provide students with the invaluable industry experience that supplements their academia whilst, simultaneously, providing experience and opportunity within industry.
“Each year we strive to develop our links, with providers, by diversifying opportunities and we were delighted to host a networking event for student's, across the sports department."
