Three open evening events at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk, Stirling and Alloa Campuses will give prospective students, parents and adult learners the opportunity to explore the courses, careers and opportunities that could shape their future.
The events will take place on Tuesday 10 November (4.30pm – 7pm) at the Falkirk Campus, and on Wednesday 11 November (4.30pm – 7pm) at the Stirling Campus and Thursday 12 November (4.30pm – 7pm) at the Alloa Campus, and all will be promoting courses and apprenticeship opportunities available at Forth Valley College.
A wide range of employers will also be attending to promote current apprenticeship opportunities and vacancies and the open evenings tie in with the launch of FVC’s Full-time Courses for 2027/28 on Tuesday 3 November. Staff will be on hand to offer expert advice on everything from subject areas to funding and will also offer tours of the facilities.
This year, FVC hope to attract school leavers who are figuring out what they want to do next, as well as those considering returning to education to retrain, change careers, increase their earning potential or achieve a better work-life balance. The College also hopes to welcome parents and guardians who are helping their children make informed decisions about their future. Expert advisors will be on hand throughout the events to discuss the options available and help visitors explore the pathways open to them.

Support teams will also be available to provide careers advice and answer questions on topics such as funding, learning support and applying to college, helping visitors make informed choices about their next steps.
Those attending the Falkirk event will also be able to see some of the facilities available through the new Skills Transition Centre, funded through the Falkirk and Grangemouth Growth Deal, including robotics, a driving simulator and AR welding kit.
At the heart of this year’s Open Evenings is a simple question: What could your future hold? Whether visitors are considering their next step after school, exploring a new career direction or looking to develop new skills, the events are designed to help them discover opportunities, understand their options and gain confidence in their future choices.
Kenny MacInnes, Principal of Forth Valley College said: “Our open evenings offer a fantastic opportunity for people to come along and find out about the different options available to them – whether they’re interested in a full-time course, finding out about Modern Apprenticeship vacancies currently on offer, thinking about studying for one of our school partnership courses or pursuing a degree qualification.
“These events are also really useful for people considering applying to college who may have questions around things such as student funding or the application process – and they’re also an excellent opportunity to find out what qualifications and skills employers are looking for.”
