Final Push For Cash For Kids Christmas Campaign At FVC WEB

Department Administrators Amy Marshall and Ashley Roper reached their target – and then some - for donations of toys and gifts for their 2025 Cash4Kids Mission Christmas appeal.

Last year Ashley and Amy were able to donate 335 gifts to Cash4Kids which were kindly donated by staff and students at FVC, but this year they collected 559!.

The gifts will all be given to children aged from new-borns to 18 years-of-age, in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Forth Valley and several FVC staff members – including Amy and Ashley – went along to the Cash4Kids depot at the Gyle in Edinburgh on Sunday 14 December to help sort the presents.

Amy added: “Ashley and I genuinely can’t believe we beat our target of 500 and ended up donating 559 gifts to Cash for Kids Mission Christmas.  The children who access this system only get three gifts, so essentially the gifts donated from Forth Valley College provided 186 children with gifts for Christmas. We couldn’t have done it without the support and generous donations from our amazing colleagues, students, friends and family.

“The volunteering day on Sunday 14 December went really well and it was actually so overwhelming to see the volume of gifts going out to children – we managed to prepare gifts for over 1000 applicants yesterday, so it was a very worthwhile day. Definitely puts things into perspective!”

Ashley Roper said: “With the support of our colleagues, students, family and friends we were lucky enough to be able to donate 559 donations, which is nothing short of amazing, we can’t thank everyone enough for their support and generosity.

We had our volunteer day on Sunday which was a full on day – I think everyone that was involved will tell you that.

“We completed lots of jobs such as unloading vans, sorting donations into age and gender categories as they were coming in, picking and packing presents for the organisations who have applied and for some of us bagging a never ending pile of Harry Potter donations – I for one do not want to see a Harry Potter game for a long time!”
