Electrical MAs buzzing after tool provider presentation

Electrical Installation Modern Apprentices were buzzing recently after being treated to a presentation and demonstration of industry tool technology by Edmundson Electrical.

Hugh Simpson, FVC STEM and Construction Lecturer, said: “These kits are branded tools that are good quality. Having completed the apprenticeship myself years ago, I know how valuable these tools would have been to me starting out as an electrical apprentice.

“It also takes some of the financial stress off the apprentice, allowing them to use the funds normally spent on basic tools, to buy more role specific/specialist tools for the particular electrical work they are doing. It’s also a great opportunity for contact with the wholesaler, a relationship that will be needed once qualified.”

Allan Trolland, SECTT Training Officer, said: “I would like to say a massive thanks to Edmundson Electrical for their continued support with the new intake of Electrical Apprentices throughout Scotland.

“Edmundson are supplying an excellent starter kit for the apprentices and it’s brilliant to see Dougie Gray (Falkirk Branch Manager) in attendance to show support for the scheme that the company kindly delivers. Hopefully this can be a start to a great relationship with the apprentices and Edmundson.

“Along with the apprentices it's great for the College to be able to network with one of the leading wholesalers, and hopefully they can strike up a wonderful relationship to supply our workshops with the materials required to deliver the course in the near future.”
