College Development Network (CDN) have shortlisted Forth Valley College for one of their annual awards.

FVC have made the final three in the category of Skills Development and will find out if they are successful at an event to be held at the Radisson Blu in Glasgow on Thursday 4 December.

This year, a record-breaking 199 submissions poured in from across Scotland for the CDN Awards, showcasing creativity, dedication, and impact across a wide range of areas including digital learning, community engagement, health and wellbeing, sustainability, skills development, and innovation.

The College’s Skills Development submission was titled Industry Transition Training Project. It celebrates an outstanding example of skills development in action at FVC led by STEM and Construction lecturer Graham Kenny and delivered by second-year ECITB Modern Apprentices.

The project centred on how they prepared to transition into full-time industry roles through leading on the design, construction, and commissioning of a closed-loop water cooling system for the College’s plant lab distillation columns.

Kenny MacInnes, Principal of Forth Valley College, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for this award and well done to everyone involved. The annual College Development Network Awards showcases examples of best practise across the Scottish further education sector and for us to once again to be in contention for a top award this year is great recognition of the work we do.”
