Purdy and Dulux showed off their painting and decorating products to Modern Apprentices and National Progression students at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus recently.
They visited the College on Tuesday 28 April for a product training event, designed to engage students with both brands. The aim was to showcase professional tools and equipment that will support them throughout College and into their professional careers.
The day was split between classroom and workshop-based sessions, covering the history of Purdy, encouraging open discussion and questions, and then moving on to hands-on experience using the tools.
Elaine Reid, Territory Sales Manager, for Sherwin-Williams UK Limited who organised the event, said: “As the first event of its kind, it was a real success. A big thank you to lecturer Michael Denzey for reaching out and working with us at Purdy and Dulux to make this happen. A special mention also goes to all of the students who attended — their engagement, involvement, and contributions throughout the day truly made it such a success.
“Compared with other college events we have attended across Scotland, this was without question the most impressive experience I’ve had. Well done to Forth Valley College, and we look forward to supporting future events.”
FVC Painting and Decorating Lecturer Michael Denzey, said: “The aim of the event was to provide further knowledge on good tools, materials and the best practice expectations of customers and employers in painting and decorating.
“The event was very successful and informative for our students and the students participated in different Continual Professional Development tasks and challenges, which were enjoyed by all. I’d like to thank Purdy and Dulux for their continued support in helping our students.”
