Appeal for students to be Bursary Ready for August

Friday 24th July 2026

Forth Valley College is encouraging students who plan to apply for maintenance bursary funding and start their studies in August to prepare their documents in advance to help ensure their funding application can be processed as smoothly and quickly as possible.

The student further education funding application process is now open through the FVC Applicant Portal for students who have completed their online enrolment.

While many people are enjoying the summer break, now is also a great time to make sure everything is in place for a successful funding application. So FVC are appealing for students to be bursary ready and start their studies on the right track.

Students applying for funding should be ready to provide relevant evidence, this may include:

  • Proof of identity (Passport, Birth Certificate or Driving Licence)
  • Bank account details
  • Residency documents
  • Income information (personal, parental or partner income, where applicable)
  • Housing Fund evidence
  • Childcare Fund evidence
  • Care Experience evidence

The College regularly sends important updates about funding applications and courses by email and text message. Students are encouraged to keep an eye on these communications and respond promptly if additional information is requested.

Allison Hewitt, Finance Systems and Student Funding Manager, said:

"Submitting the right documentation at the right time helps us process applications as quickly as possible and reduces the likelihood of delays. We encourage students to review any messages they receive from the College and make sure they have the information they need ready, before applying.

“We also encourage parents, carers and guardians to support students by helping them gather any required information in advance, making the application process as straightforward as possible."
