Amy and Ashley lead on FVC Cash For Kids Christmas campaign

Thursday 29th October 2026

Cash For Kids will benefit from a fantastic fundraising effort organised by two Forth Valley College Administrators in time for Christmas.

Falkirk Campus reception Information Assistant Amy Marshall and Estates and Facilities Administrator Ashley Roper FVC’s are once again leading the ‘Mission Christmas’ Christmas For Every Child, Cash For Kids appeal Mission Christmas 2026 | Fundraising | Cash for Kids  – from Monday 2 November till Friday 11 December -throughout the College this year.

How does it work?

Anyone can donate, they don't have to be staff or students. Donations of gifts for children between 0-18 years of age, must be brand new, unused and unopened, but they do not accept clothing. Ashley and Amy welcome absolutely anything at all, however it does have to meet the requirements of being brand new and unopened. Cash for Kids ask that the gifts are not wrapped

Gifts can be handed in to a donation station at the Falkirk Campus Reception, and also to the main receptions at Stirling and Alloa and they will be brought over to the Falkirk Campus in the internal mail.

Collection Dates

Donations will be accepted from Monday 2 November until Friday 11 December.

The organisers will be accepting toys and gifts, but also monetary donations this year, as some people did ask last year if they could just give money. To donate money visit Ashley Roper is fundraising for Cash for Kids

Ashley Roper said: “Both myself and Amy absolutely love Christmas time and love giving gifts, however it upsets us to think that there are people in the surrounding communities who go without. Therefore we knew we wanted to do some sort of Christmas Appeal and decided to do it for Cash for Kids.”

Amy and Ashley are also looking for volunteers to help pack the donations on 13 December (10am-2pm) at Cash for Kids HQ – to find out more just contact Amy or Ashley at the Falkirk Campus Reception.

Ashley added: “On Sunday 13 December myself, Amy, and any volunteers will be heading to the Cash for Kids Mission Headquarters in the Gyle Shopping Centre, to drop off all the presents that are gifted.”

Amy said: “The volunteering day will be from 10am – 2pm and will be non-stop so we need people to be aware that there is a physically demanding element to this, due to the fact we will be picking and packing gifts, as well as sorting gifts that come in via the vans doing drop offs that day. It’s four hours of being on the go constantly – but in the best possible way!”

Amy added: “Like Ashley said, Christmas is our favourite time of the year, so it’s nice to be able to contribute to something like Cash for Kids and give something back!

“We’ve both got children of our own, so we know full well that Christmas comes with a certain pressure for parents and families, but hopefully by taking part in Mission Christmas, we can help to make it enjoyable for more children and reduce some of that pressure.

“We’re hoping for a good response across our three campuses, so fingers crossed we can get the support behind us and be able to donate a range of gifts for kids across the local communities. Any donations, whether it’s a gift for a child or a cash donation towards a gift, is very much appreciated.”

Amy is also doing The Kelpies Illuminated on Mon 16 Nov which is their event to launch Mission Christmas. It’s an Aerial climb, inside the kelpies at night time while the statues are illuminated. It involves a network of ropes, ladders, cargo nets etc to get to the top - you'll look out the horse's mouth to an amazing view then you'll take a quick flight drop to the bottom - you're clipped on and supported by a harness the whole way.
