Alice shortlisted for SDS apprenticeship award

A Forth Valley College Modern Apprentice has been shortlisted for an award at the annual Skills Development Scotland (SDS) awards.

SP Energy Craft Apprentice – Fitter, Alice Fairbairn (25) from Melrose, is in the final three of the Modern Apprentice of the Year Level 6+ category, and winners will be announced at a special ceremony at the Old Fruitmarket in Glasgow on Thursday 26 February 2026, to mark the start of Scottish Apprenticeship Week (Monday 2-Friday 6 March).

The Scottish Apprenticeship Awards  Scottish Apprenticeship Awards | Celebrating work-based learning showcase apprentices, employers and learning providers from across the country and a range of sectors.

Award categories celebrate the incredible work of Foundation, Modern and Graduate Apprentices. They also recognise the exceptional organisations who champion and support apprenticeships.

Caroline Hogg, FVC’s Head of Apprenticeships, said: “This award celebrates the dedication and achievements of Modern Apprentices who have achieved a qualification at SCQF Level 6 and above and we are delighted that Alice has been recognised for her hard work and dedication. We wish her all the best for the ceremony at the end of February.”
