Introduction to Workstart (Schools)

***PLEASE NOTE - only pupils who will be at school during session 2026/27 can apply for this course***

At Forth Valley College we support young people with Additional Support Needs, to transition into college over a full year, whilst they continue their school journey.

This course is for young people from S4 (Starting in August 2026) with more complex Additional Support Needs, working at SCQF level 4, who are looking to leave school the following year to attend college or other providers.

This course is aimed at transitioning young people onto our Full-time Workstart or Workstart: Rural Skills course, both levelled at SCQF 4.

This year long transition course runs whilst young people are still at school and the school provides the support whilst they are at college, allowing us to get to know the young people and their needs, while supporting them to settle into college life, getting to know key members of staff, and the college environment.  Throughout the year, young people will take part in a variety of projects and opportunities, and take part in subjects in other areas of the college such as Construction and Hospitality, that build their confidence, grow their independence and allow them to become part of the community at Forth Valley College.

This course will run on Thursday 9am - 12.00pm at Alloa
This course will run on Tuesday 9am - 12.00pm at Falkirk
This course will run on Friday at 9am - 12.00pm at Stirling
