NQ Applied Science - Level 5
This course will start students on the road to becoming a lab technician or studying science at a higher level. Using state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, this course provides valuable experience, knowledge and technical skills for working in a laboratory environment. There is a strong emphasis on the development of good technical lab skills through practical work, lectures and case studies.
This course enables students to advance onto Highers, or NQ Level 6, and then HNC, HND or degree level study and to secure employment in science-related industry sectors.

Progression
Entry requirements
- National 4 awards (or equivalent) in Maths, English, Biology and Chemistry
- Successful completion of Access to Science Level 4
- Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant experience or alternative qualifications, will be considered
- Selection is by an interview process
