Associate Degree: Applied Biological Sciences (Incorportating HND Applied Biological Sciences)
Our Biological/Medical Sciences programme with the University of Aberdeen offers students the opportunity to explore a wide range of biological life sciences and offers the opportunity to specialise in environmental, animal, human, cellular or molecular biology.
Students will spend their first two years at Forth Valley College’s state-of-the-art Falkirk Campus completing a HND in Applied Biological Sciences. There will be a strong focus on hands-on learning and developing vital laboratory skills.
Students will then progress to the University of Aberdeen for year three and four, with all students being guaranteed free accommodation.
At this point, students will have the opportunity to select from a wide range of disciplines and can choose to follow any of the pathways below:

All pathways focus on both theoretical understanding and practical skills, with the curriculum equipping students to address complex biological problems, contribute to scientific advancements, and engage in innovative research and development.
Students are prepared for careers in diverse sectors such as biotechnology, environmental consulting, healthcare, and agriculture.

Entry requirements
One of the following:
- NC Applied Science Level 6
- An appropriate group of National Qualification units
- A minimum of two Highers at Grade C or above (Preferably to include Biology and Chemistry)
Additional Requirements:
- Preference will be given to applicants with a strong science background
