Award in Film & Screen (Schools)
***PLEASE NOTE - only pupils who will be at school during session 2026/27 can apply for this course***
This programme offers a broad, investigative experience of film and screen with a key focus on expressive arts and creativity. The first unit will introduce learners to the elements of film and screen across a variety of forms of visual storytelling, and to the techniques and processes used in the creation of film and screen products. The second unit will introduce learners to craft and technical roles within film and screen production. Finally, candidates will develop understanding of, and practical skills within the production and creation of a film and screen product. Learners will, through practical application and experimentation, create their own work. Learners will experience a range of craft and technical roles throughout their study.
This course will run on Friday 9.30am - 2.15pm
Please note that the course you are applying for is split across two sessions. When submitting your application, the dates displayed will be for the June Induction in session 2025/26. Once successfully enrolled on this session, you will automatically be transferred to the 2026/27 session, which begins in August, for the remainder of the course.

Entry requirements
- There are no formal entry requirements but pupils should be capable of working at SCQF Level 6 study and should be able to demonstrate an interest in craft and technical aspects of Film and Screen production, such as set construction, set decoration, wardrobe etc as well as having a desire to continue studying within a Creative or technical area.
