CIPD Diploma in Strategic People Management
This qualification further extends the disciplines and scope learned in the CIPD Level 5 (equivalent to SCQF level 8/9) Associate Diploma in People Management and is aimed at intensifying learners’ autonomy and judgement so that they can strategically lead and direct organisations and their people. It offers the opportunity for learners to influence people practitioners and organisations.
The course is equivalent to SCQF Level 11.
Please note this is a 2 year programme and the cost is £2,565 per year.
You apply for year 1 and pay prior to commencement of your course.
Year 2 fees will be payable when your year 2 enrolment is being processed. (Although you can also, should you wish, pay the full 2 year programme upfront).
Fees include course textbook provision and online resources (Emerald Database).
In addition, CIPD membership is a requirement. Students pay this cost directly to CIPD.

Please note that workshops are held approximately every 4 weeks, and studying at this level will require independent research and be conducted out with class time. However, support and guidance will be provided in order for these skills to be developed. In addition, all learners will be allocated a mentor from the CIPD teaching team, for any additional support required, for the duration of the programme.
Career Paths
This qualification galvanises learners with a depth and breadth of understanding of people practice and management to furnish them with the insight and strategy development skills required to operate and lead in an organisational setting at this level.
It is suited to individuals who:
- are experienced people practitioners
- are working in a senior people practice role and wish to extend and deepen their skills and understanding to shape strategy, policy and people
wish to shape people practice, creating value for a wider audience - are currently leading and managing people and practice within organisations
Progression
Upon successful completion of the CIPD Level 7 (equivalent to SCQF level 11) Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management, learners with the relevant professional experience can apply for Chartered Membership.

On successful completion of the Advanced Diploma students can apply to Strathclyde University to complete top up research and dissertation units to achieve an MSc.
Entry requirements
- Relevant experience will be required and a degree in a relevant subject would be an advantage.
