NC ESOL for Employability (English for Speakers of Other Languages)

This course is for students whose first language is not English and are seeking or already in employment who wish to gain further skills and a recognised qualification.

In this course you will have the opportunity to develop skills in:

  • Citizenship

Subjects will include ESOL, Travel and Tourism, ICT, and Living in Scotland.

This course is SCQF Level 4 and it is recommended that students will have already gained an SCQF Level 3 ESOL, however all students will be invited to a level assessment before interview selection.

Entry is at the discretion of the centre, it is recommended that candidates have SCQF level 3 ESOL or equivalent, or have successfully completed a diagnostic test at that level.

• Before starting the application process, please ensure you already hold or are working towards the relevant entry qualifications required for the course you are applying for

• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
• Applicants who provide a mobile phone number on their application form will be sent a text reminder prior to the day of interview
