From Ocean to Plate: An Introduction to Sustainable Fish Cookery - Evening
This course introduces the fundamental skills of seafood preparation and cookery. Throughout the course, you’ll learn both basic and advanced techniques in fish and shellfish cookery. You’ll also explore the meaning and importance of sustainability, learning how it can benefit the planet while also saving you money. Above all else, you’ll learn recipes that range from impressing your guests at a dinner party to a simple and quick mid-week meal for yourself and your family. Your journey into new and interesting seafood starts here. The world’s your oyster!

Content
The course will feature a variety of recipes from different categories of seafood. There is a specific emphasis on keeping to the more up-and-coming sustainable options on the market. The course aims to introduce you to some of the many options available in the world of fish cookery, while also demonstrating how a professional kitchen would approach this area of gastronomy.

As per the College Tuition Fees and Refund Policy, tuition fees are non-refundable except under exceptional circumstances. Refer to our Tuition Fee Refund and Withdrawal Procedure on the College website.
Student Paying Fees
Fees of less than £150 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater. You can access a direct debit form here.
Instalments must be paid via direct debit over a 4-month period and an initial 30% deposit is required in order to secure your place. You will not be able to apply online if paying by direct debit please contact Evening Admissions - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.
Employer Paying Fees
If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employers Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or on enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here. We ask that you complete the Employer Agreement Form and return via email to - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.
Please also be aware that if you do not meet the residency requirements to be assessed as a home fee student, you may be required to pay a higher fee rate. For evening courses, this rate is double the home fee advertised.
