This course will run online with occasional attendance at college required.
Higher English offers learners the opportunity to develop detailed and complex language skills in the contexts of literature, language and media. Candidates will develop reading and writing skills through studying, analysing and responding to a wide variety of texts. Students will learn to understand, analyse and evaluate the way language is used in a wide range of literature and texts and develop their own discursive and creative writing skills.
This is primarily an online course. Throughout the course there will be a substantial amount of homework and personal study required. Being able to use computers is essential so that you can take part online, although you will be shown how to work 'Microsoft Teams' if you are not familiar with the software.
You will also be occasionally expected to attend the College physically for assessments, portfolio work and the final exam.

Student Paying
Fees of less than £150 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater. You can access a direct debit form here
Instalments must be paid via direct debit over a 4-month period and an initial 30% deposit is required in order to secure your place. You will not be able to apply online if paying by direct debit please contact Evening Admissions - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.
Employer Paying
If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employers Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or on enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here. We ask that you complete the Employer Agreement Form and return via email to -eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk
Fee Waiver
You may be eligible for a fee waiver for your course if you meet the eligibility criteria which includes certain benefits such as Universal credit.
