NQ Access to Chemical Engineering

This brand new offering in Chemical Engineering provides a stepping stone in the pathway to a career in Chemicals Industry.

After completing this course, progression to either our popular HNC/HND Chemical Process Technology or Applied Chemistry offerings or even onto our University Partner Degree Programs at Heriot Watt University or University of Strathclyde.

This course would also enhance an application to an apprenticeship in the Chemical Process Industry.

Upon completion of this course the candidate will be eligible to progress onto our popular HNC or HND Chemical Engineering Technology Course or to begin a Chemical Engineering Degree with either of our partner Universities.

The course would also enhance an application to an apprenticeship in Chemical Engineering.

  • The access course is rated at SCQF Level 6, it is recommended that the applicant has completed mathematics to National 5 level and has some science experience, preferably in Chemistry or Physics. However, it may possible for the correct candidate to begin this course without this prior learning certificated.

• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
