NC Fabrication and Welding

This course provides an excellent foundation in Fabrication and Welding. Achievement of this award allows students to progress towards completion of the vocational element of a Modern Apprenticeship and subsequent career progression within the engineering industry.

It also further develops the skills learned from access to engineering courses and/or other qualifications.

  • In order to achieve a NC in Fabrication and Welding, candidates must be successful in completing and achieving all SQA units delivered on the course.

  • Modern Apprenticeship in the Engineering Industry
  • Welder
  • Welding Technician
  • Fabricator
  • Engineer

  • Three National 5 awards (or equivalent) in Maths, Science or technology subjects
  • Successful completion of a relevant access course or an appropriate group of National Qualification units at SCQF Level 5
  • Applicants who do not meet these criteria, but have relevant experience or alternative qualifications, will be considered

• Disclosing support needs in your application will not affect your chances of being offered a place on a course at Forth Valley College
• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
• Applicants who provide a mobile phone number on their application form will be sent a text reminder prior to the day of interview
