NQ Computer Aided Design for Construction & Manufacture
This course is delivered at our Falkirk campus.
The course aims to provide a thorough insight and training into both the practical and theoretical skills required to work and operate within a range of Construction and Manufacturing design disciplines with Computer Aided Design (CAD) at its core.
Students will learn about CAD roles within a draughting and design office and how CAD skills can lead to careers in Design Engineering and Construction e.g. CAD Technician for Civil Engineering and Architectural projects.
Technology plays a very large part in the Construction and Engineering industries and the course will introduce students to technology used within a workshop and construction site setting.
The final section of this course will prepare candidates for all aspects of the use, specification and reasoning for new and sustainable technologies.

Entry requirements
One of the following:
- National 5 award in Maths, English, and a technical or science subject (Please note: Applications of Maths qualifications will not be accepted as an alternative to Maths qualifications)
- Successful completion of a relevant access course or an appropriate group of National Qualification Units
- Applicants who do not meet these criteria may be considered on the basis of relevant industrial experience within the industry

- Entry to this qualification is at the discretion of the College following an interview
