CompEx 12 Design and Application Engineers Core Competence Certification (Ex 12A & 12B)

Competency Certificate for professional Application Design Engineers and Project Engineers who understands the risks associated with the correct design and selection of electrical installations for use in explosive atmospheres.

Ex12 meets the competency requirements of IEC 60079-14 for Designers (design & selection)
Ex12A - Design of Non-Intrinsically Safe electrical equipment installations in explosive atmospheres; and
Ex12B - Design of Intrinsically Safe electrical equipment in explosive atmospheres.

From 1 April 2019, Compex have introduced the CompEx ID card as mandatory, the cost of this is £25 and is included in our price of £1600pp.

Using ITA?

This course is eligible for ITA funding. If you wish to use ITA funding towards the cost of this course, you must first apply for the ITA funding through the My World of Work website. • ATEX and IECEx Equipment Protection levels (EPL)
• Assemblies and hybrid concepts
• Detailed design and Installation Practices (Electrical and I.S) in accordance with IEC 60079-14
• Intrinsic Safety System Design – this is a very detailed part of the course
• A review of a selection of electrical and I.S. equipment and systems
• Documentation

The course includes four separate written exams (core paper, marking paper, design paper and standards paper) which take approximately seven hours in total.

Electrical/instrumentation Designers & Engineers, Maintenance Engineers and Project Engineers working within hazardous areas.

Electrical/instrumentation Designers & Engineers, Maintenance Engineers and Project Engineers relevant qualifications or company support letter.
