NQ Business Management with Digital Technologies
This course provides an excellent starting point for those who wish to work or progress to further study in the areas of business, management, administration and/or IT. You will develop a range of skills and knowledge highly sought after by employers.
These skills will enable you to work effectively in a modern office or business/organisation and will provide a solid foundation, whether you choose to move on to higher education, or enter the workplace.
The course is intended to provide insight into a range of business and administration related areas in order to build robust overall understanding of the business environment, and how firms operate within it.
A two week work placement towards the end of the programme will allow you to apply your knowledge to a role of your choice.
- After successfully completing this course, you will have the skills required for a junior entry level role in business, such as a general office role, customer service, retail sector, call centre or to assist in starting up your own business.
- Students who successfully complete this course may be given the opportunity to progress to HND Business, HNC Administration and IT, HND Accounting or other HND courses within the College.
- With one of these HND qualifications, you can then apply to year three of related degree programmes at University (subject to Graded Unit results).
One of the following in relevant subject areas (such as English, Business, Admin, Maths, Modern Studies etc):
- Three National 4 passes and one National 5 qualification at grade C or above (or equivalent)
- Successful completion of a relevant access course or an appropriate group of National Qualification units
- Applicants who do not meet this criteria, but have relevant work experience or alternative qualifications may be considered
- Applicants whose first language is not English should hold an appropriate ESOL qualification

- Final selection subject to application screening and potentially attendance at a small group information session

• If your application is successful, you will be invited for interview. For January start courses interviews will be in Nov/Dec and interviews for August start courses will take place between February and May
• If your application is unsuccessful, you will be offered support in finding a suitable alternative course
