Beginners Award in Floristry - City & Guilds Level 1 - Evening
This course is designed for those seeking employment in floristry but who have no prior experience. Participants will learn how to identify flowers, foliage and plants in common commercial use and create floral designs for weddings, funerals and gift arrangements. The course will consist of practical and theoretical tests.
This course is suitable for applicants aged 16 or over.

Materials Required
- Students are required to provide flowers and materials for this course. All students will receive an email with this information the week before their course starts.

- Students could secure employment as a florist assistant whilst they progress on to the next qualification.

- The course requires basic numeracy and literacy skills and an enthusiasm for flowers.
- Previous participation in a floristry leisure course would also be an advantage.

Student Paying Fees
Fees of less than £150 must be paid in full. Payment by instalment is available, provided the course fee is £150 or greater. You can access a direct debit form here.
Instalments must be paid via direct debit over a 4-month period and an initial 30% deposit is required in order to secure your place. You will not be able to apply online if paying by direct debit please contact Evening Admissions - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.
Employer Paying Fees
If your employer is paying for your tuition fees, an Employers Agreement Form or letter from your employer must be submitted prior to or on enrolment. You can access the Employer Agreement Form here. We ask that you complete the Employer Agreement Form and return via email to - eveninginfo@forthvalley.ac.uk.
Please also be aware that if you do not meet the residency requirements to be assessed as a home fee student, you may be required to pay a higher fee rate. For evening courses, this rate is double the home fee advertised.
