Nes Bassalat (18) from Edinburgh completed the SWAP Access to Nursing course has is looking forward to going to university and building a great career in health care.
“I chose to study at FVC because I wanted a fresh start where I didn't know anyone, giving me the chance to explore a new area and try something different instead of staying in my home city. I also wanted a new experience at a stronger college, and I felt I could find my path and build new friendships there.
“The lectures at Forth Valley College are extremely supportive and helpful. They explain things clearly and encourage students to do their best. They care about your progress and help you improve and achieve more than you thought you could. The learning support bases are really good and help you with your work when you need extra support. I found this very useful and I'm grateful for their support.
“Studying at the College has benefited me by allowing me to experience a new environment away from my home city. This helped me develop my social skills and helped me become more confident and independent.
“Forth Valley College has supported my progression by providing guidance, including help with university applications. The staff genuinely care about students’ futures and work hard to ensure we are prepared for the next steps in our careers or education.
“I would recommend Forth Valley College because it has a supportive environment and helps students feel confident in their studies. The course is also well organised and gives you useful skills for your future.
“The best part of my experience was my class. We have a strong, positive relationship and work well together. We support each other and make the lessons more enjoyable. It feels comfortable working with them, and we helped each other understand the work better.
“I would recommend this College to other students because it gives you a positive learning experience and helps you improve both academically and personally. The staff are supportive and help you stay on track with your goals.
“What I loved most about my experience at the college was my class, we all got along well and felt like a close group of friends. The teachers were also really funny and easy to talk to, and they made lessons more relaxed. I also liked the food in the cafeteria because there were lots of different meals, so it never felt the same every day.”
