Kim Reid

I’m Kim Reid, and I’ve been with Forth Valley College for over 19 years now.

During that time, I’ve had four different roles, all within Corporate Services - and in each of them I’ve been lucky enough to work closely with students, which has always been a big highlight for me.

I’m currently the School Partnership Manager, part of a small but brilliant team. We work with all 18 local authority schools, three secondary support schools, and a number of private schools and those just beyond the Forth Valley area.

Through the School Partnership programme, we support around 700 pupils across our three campuses. It can be challenging at times, but honestly, it’s probably the most rewarding role I’ve had at the College. I really enjoy seeing pupils who come in feeling nervous or unsure at first, then who grow in confidence and go on to full-time study - and succeed. It’s such a great journey to be part of.

The last few years have been especially tough, particularly for our younger students, so I feel very fortunate to work alongside so many dedicated colleagues who play a huge role in helping them achieve their goals.

I’m also a big fan of our social side! I love getting involved in our staff gatherings and co-host our annual quiz with Lisa Hachemi. Since Covid, we’ve definitely felt a shift, and many of us miss that strong sense of community we used to have. Hopefully, through things like the wellbeing cafés and other social events, we can start to build that back up again.
