Barry Riddell (47) from Bonnybridge is on the road to a new career after completing a Pathway to Employment course at Forth Valley College.
Barry, said: “I was referred to the College by the Educational Training Unit (ETU) at Falkirk Council while I was unemployed.
“The trainers and administrative staff have been incredibly supportive and helpful throughout and the college facilities are also excellent.
“My time at the College has significantly boosted my confidence. It has helped me establish a daily routine, get out of the house, and ultimately secure a job.
“I’ve gained recognised qualifications, including First Aid at Work, IOSH Health and Safety, and Leading First Aid for Mental Health, all of which I can apply in my new job role.
“I would recommend this course to other jobseekers because it builds confidence and provides valuable qualifications. The best bit for me has been gaining qualifications that have improved my employability and I’ve also enjoyed the confidence boost and meeting new people.
“I would definitely recommend the College and the course as it improves career opportunities and greatly enhances self-confidence.
“The thing I most loved overall wad that before starting the course, I lacked confidence and felt useless. The support from trainers and administrative staff has made a huge difference. They helped me build my confidence and develop my CV, which ultimately led to me gaining employment.”
