Latest Alloa Campus Update
Forth Valley College have announced that they are currently exploring options in relation to their Alloa Campus.
The College’s three campus model is no longer financially sustainable under current Grant-in-Aid funding received from the Scottish Funding Council, and following a 10% credit reduction since session 2023/24.
A decision on the future plans for the Alloa Campus will be made at a Forth Valley College Board of Management meeting on Friday 26 September.
FAQs

What would be the impact on students?
Course delivery for current students is confirmed until June 2026. In the event of the campus closing, students would be given every opportunity to complete their qualification.
What is the number of active students currently attending the Alloa Campus?
The 461 students who are enrolled at the Alloa campus across a range of attendance modes include Full-time (302), Day Release (25) and School College Partnership (134).
What subject areas are currently delivered at FVC Alloa Campus?
Subject areas include Early Education and Childcare, Health and Social Care, A range of Access Courses (Lifestart, Workstart etc), ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), School College Partnership courses, Beauty and Nail Services, Hairdressing, Construction (Brickwork, Plumbing, Joinery), and Electrical Installation.
Why has the Alloa campus been selected for potential closure?
No final decision has been reached regarding the Alloa Campus. However, taking into account the projected level of activity for 2025/26, previous levels of activity delivered and the under-utilisation across all three campuses, it is possible to deliver the majority of the current provision from two campuses.
If there is a reduction in the College’s estate, Falkirk and Stirling would be the only workable combination in a two-campus model, given the specialist nature of the curriculum in these two campuses. Creative Industries workshops and recording studios, the Gallery restaurant and Engineering and Construction workshops could not be physically accommodated in the Alloa campus.
