Enterprise & Entrepreneurship at Forth Valley College
Forth Valley College is strengthening its commitment to innovation, creativity and future focused skills through a wide range of enterprise activity designed to inspire learners across all campuses, subjects and levels. Our programmes are built to challenge mindsets, broaden horizons, and show that entrepreneurial thinking is relevant to everyone.
Workshops, Bootcamps & Hackathons
A series of high impact activities are rolling out across the College, each designed to help learners develop real world problem solving skills.
These activities are designed to be inclusive, accessible and engaging - proving to learners from every subject area that entrepreneurial skills can help them thrive, regardless of their future direction.
Additional hackathons, bootcamps, CPD sessions and advisor support for staff will run throughout the year, culminating in a regional Entrepreneurial Skills Conference in March 2026.
Campus Catalyst
Campus Catalyst is Forth Valley College’s flagship entrepreneurial initiative - an ambitious, sector leading approach designed to transform entrepreneurial skills teaching and learning across the region.
The project has been awarded £77,348 from the Scottish Government’s Entrepreneurial Education Fund and is delivered in collaboration with key regional partners including Stirling Council, STEP, CodeBase, Connect ED network and the University of Stirling. It sits alongside wider enterprise activity across the College, including the Meta preneur project led by our Entrepreneur in Residence, Kirsty Thomson Gillespie.
Running throughout 2026, Campus Catalyst will:
- Develop and pilot a programme of entrepreneurial skills learning for FVC learners and staff, as well as pupils from our 18 school partners.
- Champion the importance of embedding an entrepreneurial mindset across the curriculum.
- Deliver hands on, experience led activity rather than rely solely on traditional business focused tasks.
