This course aims to develop a range of skills for working in an early years setting. It will provide the learner with a wide knowledge of the factors which influence children's care and their learning and development. The course will also provide opportunities to relate theory to practice in appropriate settings. Successful completion of this course provides the necessary qualifications for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council.

Mandatory:
Successful interview
Clear Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check required. The candidate must submit
an application to join the PVG scheme. It is the responsibility of the applicant to cover the cost of this.
Plus one of the following:
2 Higher Grades at Grade C or above (including Higher English or Communication 4/Literature 1), and 3 Standard Grades at Level 3 or above (including Maths or Intermediate 2 Maths)
Successful completion of all units/exams within NC Early Education and Childcare (SCQF Level 6)
PDA Education Support Assistance (SCQF Level 6) Higher English at Grade C or above plus successful completion of all units within Career Skills Programme (SCQF level 5-7) with Higher
Psychology at Grade C or above with 60 days relevant placement experience
