Resuming Campus Operations FAQ

Distribution of loan laptops will commence from Monday 14 September.

You can collect your laptop from the reception desk at the campus on which you are based.  You will be sent an email with a date to collect your laptop.  This is to minimise queuing to help maintain social distancing at our receptions areas.

If you have any queries around collecting your laptop, please speak to your Curriculum Manager in the first instance.

Instructions of how to log in to your laptop will be provided, and you will be added to a Microsoft Team where support will be available from College IT staff or other students.

Your laptop can be connected to any Wi-Fi connection, however for your own safety we recommend you connect to a secure connection.  There are various websites which will test your internet connection speed, and most providers will have their own guidance on how best to maximise internet speed.

Yes – please complete a Student Assistance Fund application giving details and/or evidence of costings for broadband, additional data via mobile and any other connectivity costs and we can review this for you.

You will be added to a Microsoft Team when you receive a loan laptop and support will be available through this channel in the first instance. College IT staff can provide remote support to resolve the majority of issues, however if this isn’t possible then we will arrange an appointment for you to bring your laptop into the College for repair or replacement.
