Our graduation ceremonies for 2023 will take place on Friday 6 October 2023 at our Falkirk Campus.

There will be three ceremonies: 10am, 1pm and 4pm.

Your invitation will confirm which ceremony you are invited to attend. 

Registration

Once you have received your invitation, please register your attendance via the EventBrite link included within your invitation.  Please provide all information requested. 

Only those attending graduation need to register. 

Please note, you must register by no later than Friday 22 September 2023

 

Eligibility

Please note, to be eligible to graduate, you must be completing an SCQF Level 7 or above.

Parking

There is limited free parking at our Falkirk Campus. Please allow enough time to get parked as it will be very busy on the day. 

Graduation attendees can also use the nearby car park at Falkirk Stadium if required.

Ceremony Two (1pm):

Department of Care, Sport, Business and Communities

 

Ceremony Three (4pm):

Department of STEM and Construction (Plus Computing and Childhood Practice)

 

Gowning and Photography 

Graduates can book a gown and/or photography package if they wish too.  

Gown collection and photography will take place at our Falkirk Campus on the day of the ceremonies.

Guest Ticket Information

If you will be attending, you will be issued with a confirmation email that will entitle you and a maximum of 2 guests to attend the ceremony. You will also be given the opportunity to be added to a waiting list for additional guest tickets. If your request for extra guest ticket(s) has been successful, you will be notified by Wednesday 27 September 2023 

Other FAQs

In order to be eligible to graduate this year, you must be completing a SCQF Level 7 or above.

We sent out invitations w/c 4 September 2023. If you have not received your invitation by Monday 11 September, please email graduation@forthvalley.ac.uk with your name, course name and student ID number.

Each ceremony should last around one hour and fifteen minutes. After this ends, you will be invited to a drinks reception at the Antonine Suite.

Registration, gowning and photography will open two hours before your ceremony commences.  It will close 30 minutes prior to the ceremony beginning but will re-open afterwards. 

You will be asked to be seated 30 minutes prior to your ceremony commencing.  

Graduates will have an allocated seat and you must ensure you sit in the correct seat. 

The ceremony will include an address from the Principal, presentation of certificates, presentation of any special awards and a keynote speech from our guest speaker  

Once your ceremony concludes, there will be a drinks reception for graduates and guests in the Antonine Suite. 

On the day of your graduation, you will receive a commemorative college certificate. Any official certificates will be sent to you directly from the awarding body.

If you or any of your guests require additional assistance or support for the event please provide this information when registering.  Please identify who needs the additional support.   Any queries, please email graduation@forthvalley.ac.uk.  

If you decide you do not want to attend your graduation, you do not need to register.

If you are unable to attend your graduation ceremony on the day, please contact graduation@forthvalley.ac.uk to let us know.

Children are permitted to attend however, please note they will require a ticket. 

There is no particular dress code, however, most graduates and guests opt for smart casual.

If wearing a graduation gown, it can be helpful to wear something with a button to attach your hood to or to bring along a safety pin. 

You do not need to book a gown or photography, however, gown collection and photography will take place at the Falkirk Campus.

Ede and Ravenscroft will also have a small stock of spare gowns on the day if anyone changes their mind when they arrive at the event.
