University Open Days create interest at College
Busy event

Events offering information on university opportunities available to Forth Valley College students attracted 255 interested learners recently.

A total of ten universities - Abertay, Aberdeen, Open University, Heriot Watt, Edinburgh Napier, Strathclyde, Stirling, Glasgow Caledonian, University of the West of Scotland and Queen Margaret University – all attended the two Open Days held at the College’s Falkirk Campus (Tuesday 13 November) and Stirling Campus (Wednesday 14 November).

Muriel Alexander, FVC’S University Partnership Officer, said: “Following a number of requests from University contacts for the opportunity to promote their range of courses that offer progression and articulation routes, we organised these two University Information Days.

“These events, ran over two days at the Falkirk and Stirling Campuses and were aimed at increasing and developing students’ awareness of undergraduate and postgraduate opportunities and the main articulation routes into degree courses. We also hoped it could enhance and support the UCAS workshops which have been taking place.

“This was an ideal opportunity for students to find out more about university courses that they may wish to apply for, or plan for their future learning and should enhance and support the UCAS talks that some classes will have received or will be attending in the coming weeks.”

If anyone needs any further information on university courses, UCAS or applications they can contact Muriel on muriel.alexander@forthvalley.ac.uk or learneradvisers@forthvalley.ac.uk .
