Artistic students showed their Core Skills were up to scratch recently by organising two exhibitions in Stirling.
Two groups from the Graphic Design and Photography Portfolio Preparation and the Art and Design Portfolio Preparation courses were tasked with staging their own exhibitions using their own work as part of their Core Skills Working With Others unit.
The Graphic Design group staged an exhibition named ‘Individuality’ at the FVC Stirling Campus’ Kildean Suite on Tuesday 24 April and the Art and Design group pit on ‘Art from the Park’ in Stirling Castle on Thursday 26 April.
The Stirling Castle link stems from a previous exhibition organised through the same course, which Lecturer Eleanor Seel has managed to build upon and strengthen. It offered a great opportunity to also link this exhibition up with students from the Northern Ireland based South Eastern Regional College (SERC) – which FVC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work closely on creative projects - via You Tube film.
Core Skills Lecturer Eleanor Seel, said: “The students organised and promoted these two exhibitions themselves, and used their own artwork to show to those who attended. I am really proud of them all.”
