Pupils from high schools across central Scotland were at Forth Valley College’s Falkirk Campus last week (Thursday 17 November) to mix, measure and monitor science experiments at the Top of the Bench science competition.
Twelve secondary schools in total sent teams along to the Mid-Scotland heat of the competition which was organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
Dollar Academy were the winners on the night and they will now go on to the UK finals of the competition. Runners up were last year’s winners Dunblane High School and St Modan’s High School.
Kenny MacInnes Head of Applied Science, Maths and Mechanical Engineering at Forth Valley College, was on hand to present the winning school team with a trophy and a cheque – to the value of £250 - for their efforts on the night.
