Forth Valley College students tuned in to sound production professionals from Solid State Logic recently when they visited the Stirling Campus.

Sam Bath (Product Specialist) and Mike Banks (sales manager) dropped in on Tuesday 4 October to deliver an AWS console master class with 16 HND Sound Production students.

Solid State Logic (SSL) are one of the world’s premiere manufacturers of high end professional mixing consoles and the company is owned by Peter Gabriel (formerly of Genesis and the creator of the Sledgehammer hit song).

Creative Industries Curriculum Manager, Colin McGeoch, said: “We have a continuing relationship with SSL as our mixing desks in the main studios in Stirling are SSL AWS consoles. They delivered a workshop with our students in the morning and a specialist workshop for staff in the afternoon.

“It was a great opportunity for the students to get some specialist technical input, and along the way find out more about the industry and employment within the industry.”
