Students at Forth Valley College have a spring in their step after the College held three Refreshers events recently (31 January at Alloa Campus, 1 February at Falkirk Campus and 2 February at Stirling Campus).
This event – which this year had the theme of film, TV and comics encouraging students to dress up as their favourite characters - had the aim to promote health and well-being and also help students to develop employability and life skills and dozens of organisations and employers took stands to appeal to show what they can offer.
The events were planned by the Student Association and the Student Services Team in order to welcome new students who joined the college in January and also to give existing students a boost as they progressed with their course.
There was also the opportunity for students to de-stress and have a bit of fun with competitions and prizes. A total of £297.02 for the Maggie’s Forth Valley charity.
Alan Buchan, Forth Valley Student Association President, said:
“Our Refreshers’ Fairs have been a big hit with students and just the thing to give them a boost after the Christmas break. You can only do your best if you feel fit and healthy and hopefully our students are now armed with lots of information and advice to look after their physical and mental well-being.
“The events also focused on developing employability and life skills which will be really important for our students over the next few months as they consider their next steps.”
