A two month Active Campus Sports schedule has encouraged nearly 100 staff and students to take part in new and traditional sporting activities.
Running throughout May and the start of June, the activities included VR headset sport days at Falkirk, Alloa, and Stirling Campuses, Frisbee Golf at the Stirling Campus, and Basketball, Spikeball, Dodgeball and Table Tennis lunchtime drop in sessions all at the Falkirk sports hall.
The activities proved very popular with students and staff at the College with a combined total of 98 participants over the five weeks!
Dean McKirdy, FVC’s, Active Campus Coordinator, said: “The second Active Campus Sports Schedule was a roaring success. It was enjoyed by all staff and students who attended the numerous fun sports and activities over the five week period between May and June.
“A particular highlight of mine was how popular some of these more unusual activities such as frisbee golf and spikeball were, especially as most of those taking part had never played them.
“In the future when creating the next Active Campus Schedule, these sessions will again be fun and inclusive for all skill levels. I now hope to build on what has been accomplished so far after the first two schedules, with an increasing number of participants taking part yet again.”
If anyone has any suggestions for fun sports or activities they would like to see form part of the next Active Campus Sports Schedule, please send your ideas to dean.mckirdy@forthvalley.ac.uk
