Hospitality Management students at Forth Valley College were in high spirits following a recent Stirling Gin workshop held at the Stirling Campus on 8 November 2017.
The group of students, currently in the 2nd year of an HND in Hospitality Management, discovered how to make a range of classic gin cocktails including a Tom Collins, Bramble, Negroni and Pegu Club in addition to Stirling Gin’s very own Pendreich Sour.
Stirling Gin Brand Ambassador, Stewart Patience, also covered the history of gin and an overview of the company’s production process.
Paul Cunningham, Hospitality Lecturer at Forth Valley College said: “We approached Stirling Gin to carry out a training workshop as we’re really keen to ensure our students have a good awareness of locally sourced food and drink. Also, Gin is so popular at the moment and we thought this was a really good opportunity for our students to learn skills linked with a key trend in the hospitality industry.
“We really appreciated Stirling Gin taking the time to carry out the workshop and our students found it really valuable.”
Oliver Flett (19, Tullibody) said: “The workshop was really educational. I’m hoping to work on cruise liners once I’ve completed my course and I think the skills and knowledge I picked up during the workshop will be really beneficial.”
