Sound Production students from Forth Valley College were masters of the sound at this year’s College Development Network (CDN) Marketing Awards.

Second HND students Zak Dysart (19), Kieran Love (20) and Rory Hannah (20) worked their magic at the Gala Dinner at Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh on Thursday 9 March, making sure the speakers and announcers could be heard on the PA system and also helping the musical entertainment acts express themselves perfectly on the night.

During the awards, Forth Valley College were Communications and Marketing Department were shortlisted with City of Glasgow College and New College Lanarkshire for the Students’ Award for Website and finished in third position with a bronze award.

Colin McGeoch, Curriculum Manager in the Department of Creative Industries, said:

“All three students performed their duties perfectly well on the night and we are all very proud of the high standards and professionalism they showed. Live work experience such as this realty helps students to put the skills they learn at the college into practice and they will definitely reap the benefits of making sure the sound was pitch perfect at the CDN Awards.”
