Forth Valley College have been shortlisted for a College Development Network (CDN) Award.
The college is up against the University of the Highlands and islands and West College Scotland in the award category of Health Promoting College. The winners will be announced at a black tie awards dinner on Thursday 23 November 2017 at the Hilton in Glasgow.
A key element of the college making the shortlist for this award was the creation of a new Health and Wellbeing Officer post at the College and increased counselling provision. Funding for this has been awarded by the Integrated Care Fund (a partnership funding programme between Falkirk Council and NHS Forth Valley) which aims to provide more joined up health and social care services in the Forth Valley area.
The CDN College Awards recognise the talent, skills and achievements of colleges, their staff and learners. They provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the innovation taking place in colleges across the country. They showcase the impact the sector is having – every day – for learners, communities, and the wider economy.
