Salon Services Awards

Students in Forth Valley College’s Salon Services department gathered to celebrate some of the best achievers of the year recently (Thursday 15 June).

The Stirling Campus was the venue for the event which saw Mandy Johnston (29) from Larbert a Level 2 Hairdressing student, Lorna Gow (44) from Denny a Level 3 Hairdressing student, Lesley McGregor (36) from Doune a City and Guilds VRQ Women’s Hairdressing student, Chloe McKie (20) from Falkirk a Level 3 Beauty Therapy student and Stacey Welsh (31) from Falkirk a Level 3 Nail Services student, all win Student of the Year for their respective course areas.

Laura Murray (39) a Level 3 Hairdressing student from Falkirk, also scooped the prestigious Paul Mitchell award on the night.

Most Inspirational Peer – student nominated awards – went to: Mandy Johnston, Rebecca Gray, Karen Waters, Nikki White, Lorna Gow, Corrine Scott, Evelyn Wilson, Mairi Macleod, Cheryl Weir and Claire Barclay

Staff Recognition Awards went to: Angela Rutherford, Karolina Lykowska and Pamela Wilson.

Lisa Evitt, Operations Manager in FVC’s Hospitality and Salon Services Department, said: “It was a great celebration of success in Salon Services over the past year and it was inspiring to see so many students achieve their goals and develop their skills and talents. Everyone has done very well and we are very proud of their efforts.”
