A Cookery Summer School at Forth Valley College served up a chance for school pupils to learn the basics about food preparation.
Based at the College’s Stirling Campus, the course ran from Monday 25 - Friday 29 July, from 9am-12noon and taught a group of eight school pupils aged from 10-15, simple recipes in a fun and engaging way.
During the week they made bread, empire biscuits, lemon drizzle cake, chocolate chip cookies, Victoria sponge, bagels and sausage rolls and learned all about food hygiene and safety in the kitchen too.
Amy Dawson (11), said: “I really enjoyed the course as I had fun and learned about cooking! I would recommend it.”
Amy Morrison (10), said: “I enjoyed the course too. The best bit for me was making bagels and learning all about cooking.”
FVC Chef Lecturer Martin Rodgers, who led the eight youngsters through the week-long course, said: “This is a very popular and fun course for the participants and for the staff. The Kids learn new skills as well as making new friends and take home lots of delicious baking.”
