Forth Valley College were praised in three categories at the College Development Network’s (CDN) annual awards night (Tuesday 22 November).
The college was nominated for three awards at the prestigious CDN Awards and came away with a Highly Commended in the Health Promoting College Award and two Commended in the categories of Developing a Regional Curriculum and Essential Skills.
The Annual Awards – which this year were held at a black tie awards dinner on Tuesday 22 November 2016 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow - recognised the talent, skills and achievements of colleges, their staff and learners; and provided a valuable opportunity to celebrate the outstanding projects and initiatives taking place in colleges the length and breadth of Scotland.
Principal of Forth Valley College Dr Ken Thomson said:
“We were delighted to have been short-listed for these CDN awards, an achievement in itself given the prestigious nature of the CDN Awards as the College “Oscars”. We just missed out on the top prizes, but to be shortlisted in three of the eight categories is truly a fantastic achievement and great to receive such a high level of recognition at a national level.
“We have a passion for making a real difference to our learners and we will continue to raise the bar each year in everything that we do."
