Four enthusiastic Skills For Work Creative Industries school pupils offered Forth Valley College staff and students the chance to buy Valentine’s Day gifts, on Tuesday 8 February – all made by themselves in aid of charity.
The local branch of the Samaritans were the beneficiaries of the sales from the pop-up stall in the main foyer of the Falkirk Campus from 2.30pm-4pm.
The students involved were: Chloe Griffiths from Alva Academy, Kelsi McGonigal, Ryan McGregor and Kerr Neil all from Larbert High School.
Creative Industries Lecturer Angela McLaren, said: “The class worked hard to compete the work as due to restrictions, they have been working remotely for several weeks and had limited time on campus.
“The class have been experimenting with a range of art and design materials. For the Pop up stall they learned how to mix and use fine casting plaster and various moulds to create the products for sale.
“During the sale were happy to answer any questions customers had about the process involved in the making of the work. Learners worked as part of a team throughout the planning and implementation of the creative project. Both their creative and organisational skills have been outstanding, this will certainly not be the last you’ll hear from this enterprising team, watch this space!”
